IT'S been a black week in Melbourne. Organisers vigorously spruiked Spring Fashion Week as the prelude to a season of girly ruffles, flowery prints and pretty colours, but it didn't work. Melbourne's favourite shade of chic dominated.
FIRST, they were too skinny. Then they were too young. Now it seems the world's models are too white. The lack of black models on the spring/summer runways in New York, Paris and Milan has sparked international cries of a catwalk whitewash.
